Christi Haynes, our new Contributions Administrator, has been with Brooks Resources since 1999. She has been instrumental to the success of the award-winning NorthWest Crossing community since its inception, assisting residents and tenants, and managing the Architectural Review Committee. She is now the Builder Relations Manager for all Brooks Resources projects, including the company’s newest development, Discovery West, as well as our new Contributions Administrator for Brooks Resources. She took on this role from Barb Hess, who retired from Brooks Resources in December.
We sat down with Christi to learn more about her new role, as well as her personal background and experiences!
Q: Why are you excited to take on this new role at Brooks?
Christi: I am so proud to work for Brooks Resources Corporation, one of the most respected real estate developers in Central Oregon. Brooks’ philanthropic program encourages its employees to be engaged in the local community by allowing us to dedicate paid time during our work week to the nonprofits we feel passionate about. Brooks also matches our monetary donations. In my new role as Contributions Administrator I feel honored that I get to meet nonprofit leaders in my community and help them achieve their goals.
Q: What is your background in the non-profit community?
Christi: Whether it is organizing a blood drive in my community, serving meals at Family Kitchen, collecting food for The Bend Food Project or serving on the steering committee of 100+ Women Who Care of Central Oregon, I enjoy being a part of improving the health of our community. Being part of a group helping others fulfills a fundamental human desire for connection and community, it strengthens social bonds and fosters a sense of camaraderie. I truly believe as citizens we all have a role to play in how our community thrives.
Q: What is one thing you want non-profit directors to know about you?
Christi: I can be motivated by food. 🙂
