Bend, Oregon – The Bend Foundation Board of Trustees met recently in Bend, Oregon and unanimously approved $100,000 of contributions to be divided among several core social service and Arts organizations that have a significant impact on the health and well-being of the Central Oregon community.
“We recognize the huge impact that charitable organizations have on our local community, and the difference that their services make in people’s lives every single day,” said Mike Hollern, Trustee of The Bend Foundation and Chairman of Brooks Resources Corporation. “The Bend Foundation was originally formed to provide a way for us to make contributions to area non-profits, and this year we are hoping that the organizations we are supporting will positively impact the lives of children, families and others in the region.”
The agencies receiving funds from the donations include Arts Central, Bend’s Community Center, BendFilm, Boys & Girls Clubs, Crook County Foundation, Family Access Network, Family Kitchen, Family Resource Center, KIDS Center, MountainStar Family Relief Nursery, Saving Grace, Tower Theatre and Volunteers in Medicine.
The Bend Foundation is a philanthropic organization established by Brooks-Scanlon, Inc and shareholders of Brooks-Scanlon and Brooks Resources to help support vital local programs. Brooks Resources Corporation donates a minimum 3% of its pre-tax profits to Central Oregon charitable endeavors through the Foundation each year.
