
Mike and Sue Hollern were recognized by the Oregon Historical Society as 2025 Oregon History Makers at an awards event at the Portland Art Museum. The annual awards recognize individuals and organizations that are positively shaping the history, culture, and landscape of Oregon.

As chairman of Brooks Resources, Mike Hollern has been instrumental in developing Black Butte Ranch, Awbrey Butte, Mt. Bachelor Village Resort, the OSU Cascades Campus, and even the famous Bend roundabouts. Sue Hollern has dedicated her time to growing Central Oregon arts, culture, and social services, co-founding the nonprofit Art in Public Places and lending her leadership and expertise to causes and organizations such as Cascade Child & Family Center, SMART, Family Access Network, and the Oregon Community Foundation.
