We recently hosted a few of our colleagues and community partners at the new Shevlin Crossing building for a special “Hard Hat Happy Hour” to show progress on the building and talk a little bit about the unique approach we’re taking to construct the building. Also in attendance was a representative from our very first tenant, RBC Wealth Management – U.S., one of the country’s leading financial services companies and part of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).
This Class-A office space project is located at the Shevlin Park Road/NW Crossing Drive roundabout. Earlier this month, Swinerton contractors began placing the first cross-laminated timber panels that will give shape to the progressive new space designed by TVA Architects. Already, the progress has been amazing and, although there is still some way to go, you can already see the pleasing aesthetics of the interior space.
This unique, sustainable construction technique is an exciting undertaking, and our Director of Real Estate Development, Rick Hayes, spoke a bit more about it at the special event. We also showed detailed renderings of how Shevlin Crossing will appear when it is complete – the first building is slated for completion in spring of next year.
