District 2 East is a 5-building campus development in NorthWest Crossing, offering approximately 52,000 square feet of flexible office/production space. The development is a joint venture between Brooks Resources and Taylor Development LLC. The Bend office market remains strong and this campus will build off the success enjoyed by its sister campus located across the street, which provides a home to Hydro Flask, Kollective, Thump and other tenants.
Construction on the first building started last fall and will be complete in a few short months, ready for its tenant, Five Talent in December. The second building to be complete will be ready in July 2020 for Plateau Forest Products. We are currently in negotiations on a number of other leases and letters of intent on subsequent buildings and construction on those buildings will likely start this fall.
Given the slope on the site and amount of fill material needed to accommodate the campus, three expansive tiered retaining walls have been built along Mt. Washington Drive. Once signage and landscaping is installed later this fall and tenants start moving in, this impressive entrepreneurial campus will provide Central Oregon businesses a vibrant working space close to favored restaurants, businesses and coffee shops, as well as minutes away from trails for lunchtime rides.
