Kirk Schueler, President & CEO

As part of our 50th Anniversary this year, we’ve asked each team member to share some information about themselves so we can learn a little bit more about each person at Brooks Resources. Here’s a closer look at Kirk today.

Q. What project are you working on right now?
A. Securing entitlements for Discover West.

Q. What’s an average day for you at the office?
A. Arrive at 8am, leave a little after 5pm. Nothing but fun in between.

Q. What positions have you held at BRC over the years?
A. Controller, CFO, COO, President, CEO

Q. How many years have you worked at BRC?
A. 17 years the first time, and 3 years the second time.

Q. What project(s) are you most proud of at BRC?
A. Awbrey Park, I got to name the streets.

Q. What else have you done/places you’ve worked during your career?
A. KPMG, St. Charles Health System, Mosaic Medical, US Forest Service, Berg’s Ski Shop, Johansen & Tuttle Surveying and Engineering

Q. What gets you up in the morning? What motives you?
A. My alarm clock. Working with people I like and admire.

Q. What’s the last book you read?
A. The Signal and the Noise by Nate Silver

Q. Who would you have to dinner (living or deceased)?
A. Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt and Jerry Tarkanian

Q. What non-profits are you involved with or support?
A. Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation, Oregon State University

Q. Where were you born?
A. Las Vegas, Nevada

A. Golfing with my wife.

About Kirk:

Kirk Schueler, President & CEO

A long-time employee of the company from 1993-2010, Kirk returned to Brooks in 2016 to provide leadership and work with the board and management team members to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. After his initial 17 years with Brooks Resources, where he held the roles of Controller, Chief Financial Officer and then President, Kirk joined St. Charles Health Care System as Chief Administrative Officer in 2010. In 2014, he started his own consulting firm and then served as the Chief Financial Officer for Mosaic Medical. Kirk has a forestry degree from the University of Nevada and an accounting degree from the University of Oregon. He currently serves as a trustee of Oregon State University.
