In January of 2017, NWX2, LLC (Brooks Resources and other partners who developed NorthWest Crossing) purchased a 245-acre property located west of NorthWest Crossing and east of the Tree Farm in Bend, Oregon. This property was included in the December 2016 Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) expansion.
The company is currently in the master planning phase of this new community, named Discovery West. Discovery West in Bend, Oregon will have 650 total residential units; single family homes, townhomes, cottages, and multi-family units including duplexes and triplexes. Additionally, there will be 21 acres of commercial and mixed employment zoned property and roughly 40 acres of park land. In fact, an exciting feature of the neighborhood will be the large extension of the existing Discovery Park, which will run throughout a large portion of Discovery West.
Currently, our development team is focusing efforts on completion of the water, sewer and transportation impact analyses that will lead to the identification of needed improvements to those systems as development in the west side UGB expansion area occurs. We anticipate once that is complete, we will submit our annexation and master plan applications to the city in summer 2018, with development and initial sales taking place in 2019.
