Kirk Schueler 2015Brooks Resources Corporation has hired Kirk Schueler as president and CEO for the company. A long-time employee of the company from 1993-2010, Schueler is returning to the real estate firm to provide leadership and work with the board and management team members to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. He will formally assume his new role on May 1, 2016, after he fulfills his current consulting obligations and role at his current employer.

Mike Hollern, chairman of Brooks Resources said, “I am delighted that Kirk is willing to accept this challenge as he already has a deep understanding of our company and its culture and values. He has the skills, knowledge and contacts necessary to succeed. In addition, Kirk has the respect of our employees, partners and community leaders and I believe we will all be proud of what we accomplish in the future under his leadership.”

Hollern also stated that this is a good time for a transition as the company’s projects are well-managed and organized for success, and there is a stable core group of long-time employees. Schueler will lead Brooks Resources in the development and execution of a clear and compelling strategy to capitalize on the many opportunities still available in Central Oregon. Hollern will continue in his role as active Chairman of the Board.

Currently, Schueler serves as Chief Financial Officer for Mosaic Medical and has a number of clients with his real estate consulting firm. Over the next few months, he will be transitioning out of these roles until he assumes his new position full-time next spring. He will continue to serve as a director of Brooks Resources Corporation and of the Bend Foundation, and will retain his outside responsibilities as a trustee of Oregon State University.

After his initial 17 years with Brooks Resources, where he held the roles of controller, chief financial officer and then president, Schueler joined St. Charles Health Care System as chief administrative officer in 2010. In 2014, he started his own consulting firm and stepped into his current role at Mosaic Medical, where he previously served on the board of directors. He holds a degree in forestry from the University of Nevada and an accounting degree from the University of Oregon.
