Bend, Oregon real estate company is honored for long-standing commitment to the community

Bend, Oregon – The Central Oregon Builders’ Association (COBA) honored real estate development company Brooks Resources Corporation with a Lifetime Achievement Award at its annual Awards of Excellence gala earlier this month. The award was granted based on criteria such as the company’s strong commitment to preserving the natural environment, community involvement and volunteerism, and a strong history of promoting positive growth in the region. President & CEO of Brooks Resources, Mike Hollern, accepted the award; he has been with the company for 42 years since its formation in 1970.

“Mike Hollern and Brooks Resources earned the COBA Lifetime Achievement Award for their 40 year commitment to COBA, the Central Oregon building industry and our community,” said Tim Knopp, executive director of COBA. “Brooks Resources is one of 22 founding members of COBA, which was established in 1972 and this speaks to their commitment to best practices in development and building.”

Brooks Resources Corporation has been long delivering quality real estate products and services in Central Oregon. With roots in the original 1916 Brooks-Scanlon lumber company that sparked a boom in Bend’s growth for the next half century, Brooks Resources is one of the oldest and most respected developers in the area.

Along with the development of premier neighborhoods that meet the needs of a diverse population, Brooks Resources Corporation takes special care to conserve natural surroundings around home sites and encourage positive, sustainable community growth. As a development partner in communities like NorthWest Crossing, the company’s commitment to green practices has been honored with recognition from the Central Oregon Environmental Center, Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Home Builders, the National Commercial Builders Council, and several national publications.
