Since moving to Bend in 1990, Dale has had an active role in shaping the fabric of Bend working as a planner for Deschutes County, as a senior planner for the law firm of Bryant Lovlien & Jarvis, planning manager at the City of Bend, and now as the director of planning for Brooks Resources. Throughout his career, Dale has been instrumental in various master planning projects, including drafting and successfully obtaining land use entitlements, annexations, zone changes, text amendments, and more, working collaboratively with City and County staff, as well as other stakeholders.
Dale has years of experience serving as a valued member of various architectural review committees, evaluating residential and commercial building design.
Dale currently volunteers on the Core Area Advisory Board. He has also served on a wide variety of City committees, including the Bend Urban Renewal Advisory Board, the Bend City-Wide Transportation Advisory Committee, Bend’s Economic Development Advisory Board, the Bend UGB Boundary Alternatives Technical Advisory Committee, and the Sewer Infrastructure Advisory Group. He was a 13-year board member of Building a Better Bend, a 6-year board member of the Bend Economic Development Advisory Board, and a facility committee member of the Bethlehem Inn.
