The expansion project\u2019s capital campaign, dubbed \u201cLet\u2019s Make History!\u201d, is focused on raising enough funds to serve more visitors through new exhibits, meetings and research areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy Board and I were very pleased and excited to receive such generous support for the museum expansion from Brooks Resources through The Bend Foundation,\u201d said Gordon Gillespie, director of the museum. \u00a0\u201cWe believe our museum mission is to represent historically, and to serve, all of Central Oregon as it was all once part of Crook County.\u00a0 The museum expansion space will give us room to accomplish part of that mission &#8211; \u00a0to orient new residences and visitors to our interesting and unique history.\u00a0 We look forward to partnering specifically with developments like Brooks Resources\u2019 IronHorse to accomplish that goal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>IronHorse is a community located in Prineville which is being developed by Brooks Resources Corporation. When complete, the neighborhood will offer a variety of residential housing options, plans for a public school site, a neighborhood commercial center, and more than 250 acres of parks and open spaces. The Bend Foundation is a philanthropic organization established by Brooks-Scanlon, Inc and shareholders of Brooks-Scanlon and Brooks Resources, which supports education, arts and cultural institutions, parks and many other programs vital to the cultural heartbeat of the area.<\/p>\n<p>The Bowman Museum\u2019s \u201cLet\u2019s Make History!\u201d project is focused on preserving and promoting the heritage of the Crook County region by bringing history to life for students, community members and tourists.
