As part of our 50th<\/sup> Anniversary we\u2019ve asked each team member to share some information about themselves so we can learn a little bit more about each person at Brooks Resources. Let’s get to know a little more about Christi …<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Q. What project are you working on right now?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. I’m working on Rules and Regulations as well as Architectural Standards and Guidelines for Discovery West.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Q. What\u2019s an average day for you at the office?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. At this point I still spend a bit of time working with our NorthWest Crossing neighbors. I like that the residents see me as a resource for all things Guideline, rules, and development related. I think of myself as a concierge of sorts.<\/p>\n

Q. What positions have you held at BRC over the years?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. I started working for Brooks Resources after I came to Bend in 1998.\u00a0 My first position was as a part time, seasonal marketing assistant and I assisted with homeowner relations.\u00a0 Then I moved to the Director of Internal Communication role (receptionist) and finally I worked for the accounting department.\u00a0 In 2002, I went to work with David Ford out at NorthWest Crossing.<\/p>\n

Q. How many years have you worked at BRC?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. Since 1999<\/p>\n

Q. What project(s) are you most proud of at BRC?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. I would say NorthWest Crossing. It is a great community in every sense of the word. I am happy and proud to call it home.<\/p>\n

Q. What else have you done\/places you\u2019ve worked during your career?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. I was in the bicycle industry for 7 years. I worked for Blackburn Designs and Kestral. I worked with men who were a part of Trek, Specialized and Giro at one point in their careers.<\/p>\n

Q. What gets you up in the morning? \u00a0What motives you?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. I get up in the morning for the fat and sugar in my coffee. Food motivates me!<\/p>\n

Q. What\u2019s the last book you read?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. I am currently listening to Educated by Tara Westover. I like to multi-task.<\/p>\n

Q. Who would you have to dinner (living or deceased)?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. When Lady Diana died, I was on a co-ed soccer team. After a soccer practice, we women on the team put together a pot luck celebration of life for her. I would tell her that no one would ever love her sons like she did as their mother. I would tell her how grown up and what good men her sons are and that she should be proud.<\/p>\n

Q. What non-profits are you involved with or support?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. I am a big fan of BendFilm. I am proud to say I am an Indy Woman. I support OPB, Family Access Network, The United Way. I am also the nominations coordinator for 100+ Women Who Care of Central Oregon. I also serve as a neighborhood coordinator for the Bend Food Project.<\/p>\n

Q. Words\/Quote to live by?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy \u2013 Martin Luther King Jr.<\/p>\n

Q. Where were you born?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. San Jose, California.<\/p>\n

Q. Do you have a favorite beer, kombucha or cider from Central Oregon?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. Blonde Bombshell \u2013 Cascade Brewery, but mostly I am a Corona gal.<\/p>\n

Q. If you had four free hours of time, how would you spend it?<\/em><\/p>\n

A. During warm weather I would be in my yard playing with my plants or by the water somewhere. In winter I would be curled up with a book or in my kitchen working on a sewing\/craft project.<\/p>\n
