Bend, Oregon – Awbrey Glen Golf Club hosted its second annual pro-member fundraiser on Monday that raised nearly $4,000 for the Central Oregon Junior Golf Association (COJGA). During the event, 11 local PGA golf professionals played their own ball while 44 members of Awbrey Glen Golf Club played a scramble format. The tournament was followed by a reception at The Restaurant at Awbrey Glen.

“I grew up playing in golf programs, and am pleased to support the future generation of golfers in our community through events like this,” said JD Mowlds of Compass Commercial Real Estate Services, who sponsored the event and is also a board member of COJGA.

Mowlds continued, “Awbrey Glen was such a natural fit for this event due to their ongoing support of COJGA programs. Not only were the members of Awbrey Glen generous in donating the use of their course, but they also participated in the event.”

Awbrey Glen Golf Club has been a long-time supporter of COJGA, participating through financial contributions, staff volunteerism, event hosting and involvement on the COJGA Board. They look forward to hosting more events like this in years to come.

First place winners in the COJGA tournament included Todd Sickles (Golf Professional, Quail Run), Kim Schwencke, Larry Hinkle, Kaye Williams and Richard Frazier. Second place winners were Steve Ho’okano (Golf Professional, Awbrey Glen Golf Club), Bob Rosencrance, Sandy Rosencrance and Scott Holmberg.

Prizes were provided by the Awbrey Glen Pro Shop and Jason Fenton of Cleveland Golf also donated products that were the closest to the pin prizes. Many of those were donated back to COJGA for their “TOC” raffle
